Just a crazy thought

That third planet is us, every living being on that little rock travels

584 million miles each year, and even our solar system is traveling

millions, billions of miles at tremendous speeds without anyone of

us truly taking it into consideration. We are gifted with an amazing 

existence. Perhaps brutal at times, but as equally beautiful and 
spectacular!

In the grand scheme of things humanity has only been here a very 

short time. comparable to a few pixels on your computer screen.

It certainly puts things into perspective!

Surprising insight on humanity

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him about humanity, answered
"man... because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.Then sacrifices
money to recapture health.And then he us so anxious about the future that he
does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or
future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

It really makes you wonder in my opinion...

As an american i'm a part of a nation that 

controls 1/4 Th of the worlds total GDP

and boasts 4% of its population. Yet how
much depth is there to such infinite wealth?
And what the point if our goal remains to 
keep making it grow without using it as a
means to live and let others live? 

I'd like to say that i'd lived

not worked all my life in pursuit

of life and missed it.

Here is a tribute to the cycle of human culture. The paintings are by

Thomas Cole and are a set of 5 named the course of empire, his works

are all beautiful and captivating and  most often inspired. In this case

one of lord Byron's work. The music is more modern and is by cold 

play, but its topic is the fall of the french monarchy, reflecting once 

again the course of human empire and government

The future of warfare

Yes folks the future is in the hands of those who control the

best computers. It may be just beginning but think on it for 

a minute, trade, communication, governments, military forces

such as massive drone fleets, transportation (GPS), surveillance,

its all connected and controlled by one system interconnected in

millions of different ways. Amazing as it may be its a threat to 

the world over as there are many nations and individuals who 

would take advantage for economic, social, or even political 

means throwing the world into chaos. Its begun in some small

situations, like in Estonia in fending off against protesters in 

moving WW2 commemorative statues, or Iranian offences 

against U.S securities companies, or north Korean attacks 

due to political criticize on the part of the U.S film industry.

Its real and it will only escalate as our culture becomes more 

dependent on technology. Granted it can be used to thrust us 

farther and faster than ever before but only if we use if for the

greater good rather than mutual destruction. Much like the atom 

it is a deadly weapon or a means to move humanity to the next 

level.The choice is ours. 

      

Star Trek S01E24 This Side of Paradise

Here's a good one. Try it out and if you get hooked 

there are more on Netflix, set aside the bad acting in

certain scenes and you'll fall in love eventually.

Yes you guessed it already i'm willing to bet from my slightly nerdy 

qualities but i am a trekky. People make fun of it so often but one thing 

that gets on my nerves is that they don't respect it. I mean if you ever

watch an episode, or movie what does it encompass? Some of the most

primary and important human characteristics and philosophies key in

the progression of civilization. Not only that but it suggests unlike many

of its other counterparts an utopia of sorts. one in which humanities soul

goal and aim is to bring peace, and a furthering of knowledge to the universe 

and all life within. These goals are the goals of intellectuals everywhere.

Star fleet is a peace keeping force, yes force, but if they are considered the

military and ruling body i'd love to see how perfect their world really is 

as many of the morals they stand by are what we may consider today as 

ideals. So Startrek is a call for a better world, and praises human progress, 

and the spirit which has pushed us, and what they believe will push us 

to a better existence and future for all. A beautiful one at that. Amongst

the stars themselves.

Randy Newman - Political Science (Let's Drop the Big One Now)

This may be a pessimistic solution, and one with many future issues

but there are times where as an american we get tired of the critics in

the world, particularly on the part of the nations of the world which 

U.S has worked so hard to appease to an extent. This is satire surely

but maybe its time for the world to be a bit more considerate and less

critical, With Putin mentioning that nuclear action was not of the table 

within Crimea this along with a few other satires came to mind. This 

is the more positive of the three, The others are by Tom Lehrer, or the

dude who wrote the periodic table of elements song which is in the tune 

of modern major general, here they are 1, 2. Funny but deadly serious 

at the same time right.

 This poem is one of my favorites, its rather dark in some instances but is fantastic in its display of human mortality and the fading greatness that comes from even the greatest of feats, so is the journey of mankind. Be it with half forgotten memories of cruelty to the remaining desolation in our wake.

his ideas at all simple a human though almost 
as constant as humanity itself. So maybe there
will be a day, when all of humanity is bound 
together for the greater good of all.

Calling for a better world

     The facts of the matter are staring us in the face as they have for centuries. Humanity is capable, in many ways willing.Yet it does not act, not because there's no movement, but because of antiquated notions and old world orders. Each mind is able to change this world, with a smile, a haircut, a bountiful crop, or something as great as a new idea. All people want to help one another, as Chaplin said and i believe its true. So in the name of democracy lets make the world free and beautiful, and lets allow the human race to grow in terms of intellect as well as compassion.

Ladies and Gentlemen

     The definitions of either of these is grand, often referring to vast wealth and social prestige, but a unifying theme for either a gentlemen or lady in whatever circumstance or dictionary is that both gentlemen and ladies strive to make those around them comfortable through thoughtfulness, courtesy, and respect where it is due. These phrases are so often in our world today forgotten along with their meaning, and while it may not be of great fascination to many particularity those of my generation, and is seen more as common sense like anything if you don't use these very vital important lessons often imparted at an early age you will lose them, and i dread the day that there is neither a lady or gentlemen to be found. So please and thank you and hold a door or two.

Intellectual Insights

     The Intellectual is a person who is able to think critically, study hard, and reflect on society. That being said the perimeters are loosely defined but very much so present. It could mean looking back to old works literature, or analyzing rap music as a reflection of the inter workings of the culture it stems from. Either way there's merit, and either way its valid. Being an intellectual is not simply about knowing a lot of things , its about having a respect and being able to appreciate the broad spectrum that makes up who we are through truly understanding, not simple using it as a means to snub people or prove your own worth. So this fraction of The Blog will be embarking on more intellectual insights, even if the subject is trivial its can be a valid intellectual point of fact if applied correctly.
